The RCI Difference

RCI will never require you to replace a system that still works.

We've heard horror stories of other companies telling clients they would no longer service their systems unless they bought a brand new one. We don't do that. Our equipment is built to last and while we continue to innovate, if your RCI system is still working 30 years later and you don't want something new, we'll keep working with you when the rare problem occurs.

We take customer service seriously.

History

RCI was founded in 1976 as Telephone Engineering & Development and was incorporated in 1980 as Research Communications International. Initially, custom engineering services were provided with later diversification into sales and services of total systems. Many products have been developed by RCI addressing the specific needs of our clients. Our current focus is on the sales, service and support of the nearly 3,000 RCI customers in central and southwest Virginia.

Service Area

RCI covers a wide service area throughout the state of Virginia. Headquartered in the  Roanoke Valley we service the New River Valley including Blacksburg, Christiansburg, and Wytheville. RCI also services Botetourt County and all of Southwest Virginia. Our service area stretches East from the I-81/I-95 corridor to Tennessee and Kentucky at the West. North to South we service West Virginia to the Carolinas.

For National Clients, we are part of a wide network of trusted dealerships who install and service equipment across the country.

Customer Service & Support

RCI maintains a staff of highly skilled; factory trained field technicians on all major products. All RCI technical employees are required to participate in our continuing educational program.
Our craftsmanship and standards are unparalleled in the industry. To ensure expedient malfunction recovery we maintain a sizable inventory of spare parts and provide 24/7 on call emergency service.

Service Contracts

First Year of Maintenance Included
The first year after installing any system, RCI guarantees all work. Any repair orders called-in the first year are completed free of charge.
In addition, RCI knows that sometimes, especially with phone systems, clients realize after installation that maybe that feature they wanted isn't quite what they want. Sometimes, maybe they want the features a coworker has. Maybe they don't need a button that goes right to the local pizza parlor. Maybe a record to voicemail button would be more useful.
For this reason, RCI offers 30 days of changes free of charge. You want a different feature than we programmed? We'll take care of it.

Maintenance Contracts

After the first year of free service, you may elect to purchase a maintenance contract on your phone system, surveillance system, data network or other system.
Maintenance contracts are like an insurance policy. You hope you don't have to use it but it's nice to have when you do.
An RCI Maintenance Agreement covers repairs and malfunctions to your system. It also includes preventative maintenance and free refresher training as needed.
Sometimes, a new employee comes in or someone simply forgets how something works. Refresher training is a great service for moments like these.

Repairs

Some clients choose to call RCI for repairs on an as needed basis. RCI is happy to come out and work on any equipment as needs arise.

Training

Training on all equipment comes standard with any RCI installation.
Additional training is available as needs may dictate. Reference material (user guides) are also provided to facilitate the operation of the equipment. When clients sign up for a maintenance contract refresher training is included as a service.

RCI Technology Specialists

All of RCI's Technology Specialists are well trained and factory certified to work with your business technology. An RCI technician goes through a full year of training and achieves several benchmark goals before being designated an RCI Technology Specialist.

In addition to the essential training required to install and program your phone, data, surveillance, sound and paging systems, RCI Technology Specialists have further training in tangential fields such as computer repair, web design, and programming. Knowledge of related fields make us better able to serve you.

All of our Technology Specialists are Toshiba and ESI Certified Service Technicians.

RCI Customer Relations

RCI Customers Relation staff do more than just sell you a product. They assess your needs, ask you questions, and recommend the best products for you.

And the relationship doesn't end with the sale. After your phone system, surveillance, sound and paging, data network, or other system is installed, RCI Customer Relations staff will follow-up with you periodically both to make sure everything is still working to your satisfaction and to see if you have any new needs that have come up with which we can assist.
